    Frequently Asked Questions

Find answers to your questions about our textile manufacturing services and raffia workshop

    Production

What is the minimum order quantity (MOQ)?
Our minimum order quantity is 150 pieces per style; it may vary depending on the materials used. Our dedicated 4-line workshop can handle small creative series.
What is your annual production capacity?
Our annual capacity is 1.5 to 2 million pieces, with 19 production lines (15 main lines + 4 small series workshop) and 1000+ operators. We can handle both small series (150+ pieces) and large volumes (10,000+ pieces).
    What are your textile specialties?
We specialize in children's and baby clothing (80% of production), with expertise in hand and machine embroidery, smocking, crochet, and screen printing.

    Quality & Certifications

    What certifications do you have?
We hold GOTS, BSCI Grade A, WRAP, OCS and ICS certifications, guaranteeing ethical and responsible production. These certifications are audited annually.

    Logistics & Lead Times

What are the production lead times?
Production lead times are generally 30 to 45 days after sample approval, depending on the complexity of the product and ordered quantities. Sampling takes 15 to 20 days.
    How is shipping handled?
We have an in-house approved transit office. Products are shipped via sea or air depending on urgency. Being in the AGOA / SADC free zone, you benefit from customs advantages.
Which Incoterms do you offer for export?
We primarily work FOB Tamatave (Port of Toamasina), the standard Incoterm for garment shipments out of Madagascar. FCA factory in Antananarivo and CIF are also available on request. We do not offer DDP, which exposes the importer to EU customs risks that are difficult to control from Madagascar.

    Services

Do you provide raw materials or work with ours?
We offer both options: turnkey (we source materials) or CMT (Cut-Make-Trim) where you supply the fabrics. We can also recommend trusted suppliers.
    How does sample development work?
Send us your technical sheets, sketches or reference samples. Our R&D team develops prototypes in 15-20 days per sampling phase. There is no limit on the number of revisions before mass production.
    How long does prototyping take?
The first prototype is delivered within 15 to 20 days after we receive the complete tech pack (pattern, fabric, accessories). Follow-up iterations take 7 to 10 days. Prototypes are billed at cost and refunded upon confirmed production order.

    Raffia & Accessories

    Do you offer raffia accessories?
Yes, our Sobika Workshop specializes in artisanal raffia manufacturing in Madagascar. We produce bags, pouches, hats and accessories from natural Malagasy raffia, available in 24 natural shades, entirely hand-crocheted and woven.
What types of raffia bags do you manufacture?
Our raffia workshop produces a full range: handbags, tote bags, pouches, coin purses, hats and panamas in natural Madagascar raffia. Each piece is handmade by our artisans, using 9 weaving stitch types and 5 different crochet techniques.
Can we order custom raffia products?
Absolutely. We create bespoke raffia pieces for brands: choice of shades from our 24 natural colors, custom shapes, embroidered finishes or combined with fabric. Ideal for capsule collections or accessory lines.
